Bone Necrosis

Bone Necrosis is a musculoskeletal concept involving bone, muscle, tendon, bursa, joint or the nerves and vessels serving a limb.
Pain, swelling, weakness, reduced range of motion, deformity or functional limitation may occur when the involved structure becomes injured or diseased.
Examination of movement and neurovascular status guides the use of radiographs, ultrasound, CT, MRI or laboratory tests.
Management may use rest and activity modification, analgesia, physiotherapy, immobilization, injection, operative repair or reconstructive surgery.
Recovery from bone necrosis depends on tissue damage, biomechanics, associated injuries, general health and adherence to rehabilitation.
